EVENT OF THE MONTH: AUGUST 2011


IGNOU-UNESCO SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
The Indira Gandhi National Open University’s (IGNOU’s) Raman Chair for Science Education, UNESCO, Department of Science and Technology (Govt. of India) and Intel together will be organizing IGNOU-UNESCO Science Olympiad 2011 in nearly 100 centers all over India and about 30 centers in all other SAARC nations on 21st August 2011.

All students currently enrolled in the 11th standard/ class of India and equivalent in other SAARC nations and having passed with an aggregate of 60% or B grade and above in their 10th standard/class examination are eligible for the Olympiad.

In 2010, 41 toppers- 28 from within India and the rest from other nations- received medals, cash prizes and awards. The award function was held on 14th November 2010 when the Chief Guest was DavidsonHepburn, President of the General Conference of UNESCO.
